WATER ABSORPTION TESTER
Helmet shell shall be tested for water absorption test and shall not absorb water more than 5 percent of its mass. The water absorption tester for safety helmets consists of a stainless steel chamber of size 1000 mm length, 700 mm width and 600 mm height. A water heater is provided to heat the water to the specified temperature. Temperature controller is provided to control the heating of the water and maintained its temperature to the set value. A hinged stainless steel door with glass at the top of the chamber is provided to see the helmet through it. A timer with audio video signal is also provided to give the signal on completion of the specified time of 24 hours. After the specified time the helmet is removed from the chamber and weigh it. Report the average gain in mass in percentage.
The equipment is made from corrosion resistant material to give it a long working life.
