MELT FLOW TESTER

Consists of a heated extruder tube, removable jet through which the material under test is extruded, a piston and dead weights to apply the specified pressure on the material inside the extruder tube.

Extruder tube made up of hardened die steel, a PID type   digital temperature indicator cum controller is provided to indicate & control the temperature of the tube accurately.

A cylindrical cavity is provided in the extruder tube for placing the test charge the test charge in during the test.

Description

Melt Flow Tester

The Melt Flow Tester GTX-YB8 consists of a heated extruder tube through which the material under test is extruded. A removable jet is provided for extrusion, along with a piston and dead weights to apply the specified pressure to the material inside the extruder tube.

The extruder tube is made of hardened die steel. A PID type digital temperature indicator cum controller is provided to indicate and control the temperature of the tube.

A cylindrical cavity is provided in the extruder tube for placing the test charge during the test.

Working Components

The Melt Flow Tester consists of:

  • Heated extruder tube
  • Removable jet
  • Piston
  • Specified dead weights
  • PID type digital temperature indicator cum controller
  • Cylindrical cavity for placing the test charge

The material is placed in the cylindrical cavity of the heated extruder tube. The piston and specified weight are used to apply pressure to the material, which is then extruded through the removable jet.
